Wedding Photography at the Chateau Impney, Worcestershire. Alexis and Darrens rather wet and windy wedding day.

As a Wedding Photographer in Worcestershire (and indeed the UK as a whole) it is fair to say that during the summer season it will definately rain on a wedding day or two. Sadly it's a foregone conclusion. Understandably, when I meet with prospective clients one of the questions I am regularly asked is

'What if it rains on our Wedding Day?'

And my answer is that there is simply no point in worrying about it.

Obviously couples can make alternative plans if it does rain (and I can also plan accordingly), but the reality is if you are planning to get married in the UK and not California, the weather will do whatever it wants to do and we will just have to work with it.

Alexis and Darren's wedding at the Chateau Impney in Worcestershire was the perfect example of just this.

It started to rain more or less from the off and proceeded to chuck it down for most of the day. It was dark (very dark) and windy (very windy) for good measure to. Indeed, I think it might have been the most challenging wedding of my year. However, the weather did not stop it being an utterly wonderful day and actually, I think the poor weather really helped to create some lovely shots... from rainy shots outside the church (which is challenging in itself when trying to hold an umbrella at the same time!) to Alexis' veil having a mind of its own as she left the church.

The rain did hold off for a while late in the day and we were treated to a gorgeous sky... the kind you only get after a storm has passed, giving us enough time to get outside and shoot a few lovely portraits. This tends to be the case even on the wettest of wedding days... you will get 5 minutes or so at some point when we can get outside... so, if you are worried about weather on your wedding day... please don't. It will work out fine and the only thing that really matters is your marriage and celebrating with family and friends.

Thank you to Alexis and Darren for their patience on their wedding day... giving me time to shoot when the opportunity arose and for generally being awesome. Here are a few of their wedding photographs...

It poured down for most of the day at Alexis and Darren's wedding however it did make for some fun photographs, and I didn't get soaked either!

The Chateau Impney is a venue I hadn't shot a wedding at prior to this one. However, it is a location that I have seen from afar (i.e. driving past it) on many many occasions. It was lovely to finally see what it looks like up close!

Love this photograph of Darren's brother. The light was just about perfect ... this is exactly my kind of shot.
