As a Wedding Photographer in Worcestershire I do get to photograph some wonderful events in stunning locations. One of the biggest pleasures I do get is when I manage to capture an image that I have in mind and it works out as planned. The photo is a perfect example. The Bride was getting ready in her parents home and I had wanted for some time to capture an image of a bride in silhouette. Katherine was stood in exactly to right spot, with something of a reflective air about her expression and I got the shot. This is one of my of favourite wedding photographs taken in Worcestershire.
Lemore Manor is one of my favourite wedding venues near Hereford to photograph a wedding. Herefordshire is a beautiful country with many wonderful wedding locations but Lemore Manor is without doubt my first choice. Tom and Laura were married in nearby Builth Wells before returning to Lemore Manor for their wedding celebrations. This image is a particular favourite photograph of mine as I moved during the wedding ceremony to make use of some perfect light entering the Church from the opposite side to my original position. I particularly like the expression of the father of the bride in this wedding photograph. As a Lemore Manor wedding photographer it is important to recognise how light might be changing and react accordingly in order to capture pictures like this. John Colson Photography.
Cotswolds Golf Club weddings are wonderful events. I photographed my first Hindu Wedding Ceremony at the Cotswolds Golf Club in Oxfordshire and it was the wedding of Pranita and Jon. I love wedding dance floor pictures and this images is one of my favourites. I wanted to photograph the bride in silhouette so I turned off my main light and relied on light from a small strobe at the rear of the reception room to create the image. One of the most rewarding things when taking photos at weddings is seeing an image and being able to create that image in camera. As a professional wedding photographer this is something that does excite me when working at Oxfordshire Weddings. John Colson Photography.
Destination Weddings are particularly good assignments for a wedding photographer. Apart from travelling to take pictures, it can often mean learning about different cultures and different wedding traditions that occur in the UK. Photographing this wedding in Crete, Greece was a treat for me. It was a tradition Greek Wedding with photographs taken on the beech after the ceremony. I wanted to create two different sets of images so took this photograph directly into the sunset, thereby casting the Bride and Groom into silhouette. The photographs from this destination wedding are amongst my very favourite images that I have taken in the time I have been photographing weddings in the UK and Europe. John Colson Photography.
Harvington is a beautiful location in Worcestershire for creating wedding photographs. Harvington Hall is located next to Harvington Church near Worcester and therefore provides many opportunities for beautiful images. This wedding took place in the Autumn, with gorgeous colours and beautiful light making for some wonderful photographs. Katherine walked into church wearing a wedding dress handmade by her mother. I was waiting for her to enter and captured this picture which as well as the Mothh of the Bride also includes her Father and her Bridesmaids. As a photographer I love the image and it is firmly one of my favourite photographs that I have taken at a wedding. John Colson Photography.
Glangrwyney Court in Powys was the venue for Kate and Frans wedding in the summer. They were married in a nearby church before spending the rest of their wedding day at Glangrwyney Court. This photograph was taken as they left the church having just get married. The photo is another of my personal favourite images. Leaving the Church hand in hand for their future together, I love how Kates wedding dress is captured in the light entering the church. John Colson Photography.
