Thief Hall, Yorkshire Wedding. Martyn and Annas Epic day in the sun.

Martyn and Anna.

Thief Hall, Yorkshire.

Full on wedding season is over now for 2019. I still have a few weddings left to shoot but the crazy part of my year is done. At one point I shot 7 weddings in 14 days … which was ‘interesting’ to say the least. The last of the 7 was Martyn and Anna’s utterly epic day at Thief Hall in North Yorkshire at the end of August.

Now, North Yorkshire is one of those places that seems to take AGES to get to. So, in order to give me some sort of a chance of turning up vaguely fresh and ready to work in the morning I drove up to Northallerton (what a beautiful town by the way) the day before which I suppose means I can now claim another ‘Destination Wedding’ to my name!

Thief Hall prides itself on being a ‘blank canvas’ wedding venue. They provide the facilities and the view (and what a view it is) and you use it as you see fit. With accommodation on site as well it is the perfect spot for a beautiful summer wedding. It suited Martyn and Anna perfectly.

Anyway, having got out of bed at a civilised time and enjoyed a nice full English I made my way over to the venue and immediately knew it was going to be a great day when the first 2 or 3 frames I shot were of Martyn rehearsing his speech with this as a backdrop….

Martyn and Anna stayed over at Thief Hall for the entire weekend, throwing a pre wedding party the night before the big day which gave me (via the venues instagram feed) a good idea of what would be in store during the wedding… and I wasn’t to be disappointed!

Another lively crowd, gorgeous weather (I mean come on… just look at it), bouncy castles, butterflies, lawn games, a cracking band, home made vodka, sparklers and a sensational cake…. it was all there.

Remember the Vodka I referred to earlier…..?

I must give a quick shout out to my old school friend Dean (and his lovely wife Lorraine) for passing my details on to Martyn and Anna. I hadn’t seen Dean since leaving school more or less 30 years ago and it was an absolute pleasure to catch up again after such a long time (although not so much of a pleasure to be reminded just how much taller Dean is than me!).

It’s crazy how time flies.

And lastly a few thank you’s. To all of the staff and management at Thief Hall… thank you so much for the warm welcome. Your venue is gorgeous and one day I hope to be lucky enough to return. Louise Lunn, Nicola Nicholls (The Pretty Sugar Cake Company) and the Funtime Frankies… it was lovely to meet you all. Dean… it really was great seeing you again!

And last but not least to Martyn and Anna. Thank you for everything. For the warm welcome, your patience on the day and of course for asking me to be a part of everything. I hope you LOVE your images!
