My last wedding of 2017 took place at a venue I had not worked at before... the amazing Peckforton Castle in Cheshire.

Jo and Rich were married at this stunning venue at the end of November and what a day it was. The Castle itself is, as you can probably imagine, is very impressive and also rather large. It also does not have a lift.... which meant lots of stairs were climbed during the day. I was utterly shattered by the end of the day...

Jo and Rich booked me to photograph their wedding ages ago... and I mean ages ago. Our busy schedules also meant that we didn't meet again until the day of the wedding (we did of course speak on the phone ahead of the day). As I do usually meet clients close to their wedding day it meant I was probably a little more nervous than usual as I pulled up to Peckforton Castle in the morning. 

But, I needn't of worried. Jo and Rich were super welcoming and I had a wonderful day working for them. Whilst the weather was not great (which meant we couldn't really get outside other for a five minute spell in the afternoon), it didn't really dampen spirits as Jo and Rich simply wanted a great day that they could share with their family and friends.

I meet lots of awesome suppliers throughout the year, all of whom work ridiculously hard to give their clients as good an experience as they possibly can. None more so that Jo and Rich's Florist, Sasha from www.sassflower.co.uk. She worked tirelessly not only with the bouquets, but also to decorate the two large rooms that the wedding was to take place in. And she did an amazing job.... I can't recommend her highly enough!

I must also give a massive shout out to the ladies at www.yourceremony.org.uk who were absolutely awesome with me during the wedding ceremony. Sometimes rules applied by registrars can be a little restrictive in terms of what I am able to do during a ceremony, but the registrars for Jo and Rich were superb. They were quite happy for me to shoot however I wanted which made my day. Thank you!

So... thank you so much to Jo and Rich and everyone else present on their amazing day (especially the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen... who were awesome...) It was a wonderful way to round off my year at a venue that I hope to visit again many more times in the future.

I should also give a big thanks to Laura and Tom for recommending me way back when.

It's been a great 2017 wedding wise... and I am sure 2018 will be just as good!
